DAY 1 – Arrival in Istanbul

You will arrive to the New Istanbul Airport. Here, you will meet your warm travel agent employee to get a transfer to your authentic hotel. You will stay in Istanbul for that night.

DAY 2 – Istanbul

Our Turkish adventure begins with a deep dive into Istanbul’s Ottoman heritage. Your private guide will meet you at your hotel and lead you to the magnificent Blue Mosque, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture completed in 1616. Next, prepare to be transported back in time at the opulent Topkapi Palace, once home to sultans for centuries. DAY 3 – Istanbul – Safranbolu

You will have your breakfast and leave the hotel for Safranbolu. Safranbolu has been an important caravan station from the 13th century to the early 20th century. The city is located on the east–west trade route. In this city, you will see the Old Mosque, the Old Bath House and Süleyman Pasha Medrese. These places were built in 1322. Safranbolu’s architecture is famous and reflects the 17th century style which was influenced from urban development in the Ottoman empire. When you arrive to the city, you will visit the famous bazaar, Cinci Hodja Caravanserai, Cinci Hodja Bath House and Kaymakamlar House (Museum). You will spend the night in Safranbolu.

DAY 4 – Safranbolu – Ankara

You will have your breakfast and leave for Ankara at 09:00 am. The road takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. When you arrive in Ankara, you will first have your lunch. Then, you will start your city tour. Ankara is the 2nd largest city and the capital of Turkey. In this private Turkey tour, you will go to Ataturk Museum and Ataturk mausoleum. You will spend the night in Ankara.

DAY 5 – Amasya

When you have your breakfast, you will drive to Amasya. Amasya is an important place for its historical connections. The city was the birth place of the famous geographer Strabo. The city is located near Iris river. It is possible to see various signs of different civilisations in the 3000 years of history. The citadel ruins date back to 2000 years with water-channels, 1000-year- old bridges, a mental hospital, an Ottoman palace and a secret underground passageway. You will spend the night in Amasya.

DAY 6 – Trabzon

You will visit the St. Sophia also called Hagia Sophia which is a church from the 13th century. The church has a huge collection of Byzantine frescoes. Then, you will go to Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, castle and Ataturk’s mansion. Here, you will also visit Ortahisar Mosque which was previously the cathedral of the old down. You will have your lunch at a seaside restaurant in Akçaabat. Our Turkey private tour will continue with Trabzon. You will go to Boztepe for the panoramic view of the city. You will spend the night in Trabzon.

DAY 7 – Sumela Monestary – Zigana – Karaca Cave – Erzurum

On this day, you will visit the famous Sumela Monastery. The monastery is from the 4th century and located on a sheer cliff facing a deep forest. You will also find some time to enjoy the calming view of the stream at Altindere valley national park. After visiting these places, you will give a lunch break at a local restaurant. From here, you will follow the Silk Road to Zigana mountains also called Pontic alps. This road will lead you to Karaca cave. The cave is one of the best examples for caves in Turkey with its colours and formations. You will go to Erzurum via Bayburt. You will spend the night in Erzurum.

DAY 8 – Erzurum – Kars – Ani

After having your breakfast at the hotel, you will start your journey to Kars where you will visit the Ani archeologic area. In your travel Turkey adventure, you will goto Ani which is an old architectural site dating back to the 5th century AD. This place was the Armenian capital in 806. From here, you will go to Sarikamis which was a famous place for Tsars of Russia to rest. You will have your dinner and stay in Sarikamis.

DAY 9 – Dogubeyazit – Mt.Ararat

Your private tour will start with a 3.5-hour journey to Dogubayazit. We will get closer to the Iranian border to see the famous crater hole. The scenery here is beautiful and rural. Here, you will get the chance to see the splendid Mount Ararat from all sides. There are legends that the Noah’s Arc rested on top of this mountain. But there is no evidence to prove this. Next, you will go to the Ishak Pasa palace. The palace consists of a Mosque, a fortress, and a palace. It is rumoured that the palace has a separate room for each day of the year. Here, you will also visit the Old Bayazit, and Urartian City dating back to 1000 BC. You will spend the night in Dogubeyazit.

DAY 10 – Van

On this day, you will drive to Van in the early morning. The journey takes around 3.5 hours. Van was founded in the 13th century BC by the Hurrites. Later, the Hittites, Urartian, Persian, Armenians, Macedonians, Romans and Turks lived in the city. The Turks arrived in the 11th century. In the city, you will see the examples of the Armenian architectural work on Akdamar Island. You will get the chance to see the Hosap Kurdish castle of Hosap which is located close to Iranian border. You will spend the night in Van.

DAY 11 – Ahlat – Bitlis

You will visit the Selcuk cemetery in Ahlat that date back to the 12th century. From there, you will head for Bitlis where you will have your lunch. Also, you will get to chance to walk around Batis known as Alexander’s town. Then, you will go to Diyarbakir to spend the night.

DAY 12 – Diyarbakir

Diyarbakir has amazing old-Arabic style houses. The city was prominent in the early years of Christianity. You will visit the city, walk in the busy streets and bazaars, and admire the stonework all around the town. Next, you will go to deyr-azca-zaferan monastery. It is few miles away from the town and dates back to 762 A.D. The monastery was the centre of Syrian Orthodox patriarch for almost 800 years. This monastery is built on top of a 4000- year-old temple that previously belonged to sun worshipers. You will drive to Urfa to spend the night.

DAY 13 – Urfa – Kahta

For this day, you will meet at 08:30am at the reception.
You will visit Mevlid Halil mosque, prophet Abraham’s cave and the famous fish pool. You will get the chance to shop in the old bazaar. You will go to Harran a city known to be home to prophet Abraham. Here, you will visit the castle, Islamic social complex and interesting beehive-formed adobe houses. You will spend the night in Kahta.

DAY 14 – Mt. Nemrut – Gaziantep

On this day, you will visit the summit of the Mt. Nemrut which is one of the most popular UNESCO World cultural heritage sites. Here, you will watch the amazing sunrise, visit the colossal heads and statues of ancient deities from the mythology. Small minibuses will take you to the top of the mountain. Everything you will see is at 8000 ft. There are statues on top of the mountain on two plain areas which are separated by crushed rock. The entire complex was built by Antiouchus about 2000 years ago as a monument to his divine ancestry. You can visit the old Arsemeia castle, cross over the Cendere Bridge also called Septimius Severus bridge that is still in use dating to the 3rd century and Tumulus Tomb of Karakus. You will go back to your hotel to have breakfast. Then, you will start your journey to Gaziantep where you can eat delicious kebabs famous baklava. Here, you will see amazing mosaics in Zeugma which is the largest Mosaic Museum. You will love the mosaics in the museum and visit Birecik for more history. You will spend this night in Gaziantep.

DAY 15 – Gaziantep – Adana – Tarsus – Cappadocia

After having your breakfast, you will start your journey to Adana. Today’s tour will start with the Archaeology Museum. Also, you will see the Ulu Mosque from the 16th century and the Clock Tower from the 19th century. Later, you will drive to Tarsus to see the Cleopatra door and Yedi Uyurlar Cave. You will drive to Cappadocia where you will have your dinner. You will spend the night in Cappadocia.

DAY 16 – Cappadocia

Cappadocia is an important place among the Turkey tourism destinations. You will start your tour with Kaymaklı Underground City. This underground city is considered as an interesting underground settlement in Cappadocia. From there, you will go to Sahinefendi (Sobesos). Here, you will see Mosaic Art and Archaeological excavation site from the Byzantine Period. The valley villages with mountains around them gives us a spectacular view. Our next stop will be Keslik Monastery near Cemil. The ancient frescos are hidden behind a smoke layer. Here, you will visit Mustafapaşa (Sinasos) which is an old Roman town with its old houses. These houses are the great examples of late Roman settlements and architecture in the region. Our next stop will be the Red Valley. The valley consists of incredible volcanic rock formations. This valley is at the centre of Cappadocia. Still, the valley is not overcrowded by tourists. You will spend the night at Cappadocia.

DAY 17 – Cappadocia

After breakfast, you will continue to discover Cappadocia. You will go to Devrent valley to see the rock formations. You will go back in time with troglodyte houses. Then, you will visit Pasabag which has “fairy chimneys”. Here, you can even hear the “songs of fairies” near Zelve. You will take your lunch in Avanos which is the centre of red pottery since 3000 BC. Here, you will witness the traditional pottery craftsmanship. In the afternoon, you will go to Goreme Open Air Museum. The museum is home to incredible examples of the Byzantine art in Cappadocia. There are churches carved in the rocks with frescoes and paintings created betyouen the 10th and the 13th century. Our next stop in your tour will be Uchisar Rock-Castle which gives a panoramic view of the Cappadocian valleys. You will stay in Cappadocia for the night.

DAY 18 – Cappadocia

Caravanserais were important structures to support the commerce and people travelling on commercial routes across Asia, North Africa and South-Europe. These roads were known as the legendary silk road and the spice road. When you arrive in Konya, you will see the Mevlana Sufi Temple. Mevlana is the founder of Sufism and whirling dervishes. You will spend the night in Antalya.

DAY 24 – Kusadasi – Pergamon – Canakkale

On this day, you will drive to Pergamon or also known as Pergamum. This place was an important kingdom during the Hellenistic period. Pergamon is known to have the second-best library after the library of Alexandria during the ancient Greek period. The library was called the ancient Library of Pergamum. When papyrus export was halted by the Ptolemies which is caused by competitors and shortages, the people of Pergamon invented a new substance to be used as a paper in the codices. This substance was called pergaminus or parchment as you know it. Fine calf skin which was the predecessor of vellum was the main ingredients. Asclepion is located in the loyour city on the southwest of the lower city and there is a sanctuary for God of Health. Asclepics was one of the largest hospitals in ancient times.
